Looking for a Momentum alternative?
Why people look for a Momentum alternative
- Site blocking and the timer need a yearly Plus subscription.
- You want blocking that's hard to undo.
- You want to see your focus streak, not a new photo.
What ZenTab does differently
- Blocking is the core: 10 sites free, without paying for Plus.
- $10 once versus $39.95 a year.
- Feed Eraser, Strict Mode and adult content protection.
- A streak graph on every New Tab.
When to stay with Momentum
Stay with Momentum if you want an inspiring New Tab with task-manager integrations, and blocking is secondary. It does some things ZenTab doesn't:
- Gorgeous daily photos, quotes and mantras.
- Task integrations with Todoist, Asana, ClickUp, Trello and more.
- Works in Firefox and Safari as well as Chrome.

Frequently asked questions
Is ZenTab free?
Yes. The free plan blocks 10 sites, hides YouTube Shorts and includes the focus timer, Zen New Tab and streak, with no time limit. Pro is $10 once, with a 7-day free trial and a 14-day refund.
Can I use ZenTab and Momentum together?
Chrome lets only one extension control the New Tab page at a time. If you'd rather keep Momentum's, ZenTab's blocking, timer and streak still work from its toolbar popup and side panel.
How long does switching from Momentum take?
About a minute. Add ZenTab to Chrome, pick the distraction packs you want in the 60-second setup, and add any other sites from your old list in Site Blocker.
