Looking for a LeechBlock NG alternative?
Why people look for a LeechBlock NG alternative
- Setting up block sets takes time.
- No focus timer or progress to keep you motivated.
- No help with adult content.
What ZenTab does differently
- Ready-made packs and a 60-second setup, instead of configuring block sets.
- Feed Eraser keeps the useful parts of YouTube, Reddit and LinkedIn.
- A focus timer, ambience, tasks and a streak in the same extension.
- Adult content protection that LeechBlock's developer advises against using it for.
When to stay with LeechBlock NG
Stay with LeechBlock NG if you use Firefox, want open source, and enjoy configuring precise rules. It does some things ZenTab doesn't:
- Free and open source.
- Works in Firefox, including Firefox for Android.
- Extremely flexible rules: 30 block sets, per-hour limits, delays and keyword blocking.

Frequently asked questions
Is ZenTab free?
Yes. The free plan blocks 10 sites, hides YouTube Shorts and includes the focus timer, Zen New Tab and streak, with no time limit. Pro is $10 once, with a 7-day free trial and a 14-day refund.
Can I use ZenTab and LeechBlock NG together?
You can, but most people pick one, so there's a single set of rules to manage. If you keep both, move your website blocking to ZenTab and keep LeechBlock NG for what ZenTab doesn't do.
How long does switching from LeechBlock NG take?
About a minute. Add ZenTab to Chrome, pick the distraction packs you want in the 60-second setup, and add any other sites from your old list in Site Blocker.
