Looking for a BlockerX alternative?
Why people look for a BlockerX alternative
- The yearly price.
- The free extension only blocks 3 custom sites.
- You want help with focus, not only with adult content.
What ZenTab does differently
- $10 once instead of about $110 a year or $200 lifetime.
- The free plan blocks adult sites from install, plus 10 sites of your choice.
- Urge challenges and a 30-minute lock that slow you down without involving anyone else.
- A full focus tool too: timer, Feed Eraser, New Tab and a streak.
When to stay with BlockerX
Stay with BlockerX if you want an accountability partner, or blocking inside a phone app rather than a DNS setting. It does some things ZenTab doesn't:
- A bigger adult blocklist, over 2 million sites, plus keyword and image blocking.
- An accountability partner who hears about it if you try to switch it off.
- Phone apps for Android and iPhone.

Frequently asked questions
Is ZenTab free?
Yes. The free plan blocks 10 sites, hides YouTube Shorts and includes the focus timer, Zen New Tab and streak, with no time limit. Pro is $10 once, with a 7-day free trial and a 14-day refund.
Can I use ZenTab and BlockerX together?
You can, but most people pick one, so there's a single set of rules to manage. If you keep both, move your website blocking to ZenTab and keep BlockerX for what ZenTab doesn't do.
How long does switching from BlockerX take?
About a minute. Add ZenTab to Chrome, pick the distraction packs you want in the 60-second setup, and add any other sites from your old list in Site Blocker.
