Take back your attention. Keep the streak.
Install free. One click parks every open tab and starts deep work. Distracting sites get a timer you chose — not another lost hour — and every focused day fills a square on your year graph.

Four ways ZenTab keeps you honest
Park every tab. Start deep work.
One click closes the chaos, opens a calm New Tab, and starts your focus session. When you're done, ZenTab brings your tabs back. Free parks 15; Pro parks unlimited and every window.
A timer instead of a wall.
Before a distracting site opens, ZenTab asks how long you need it. A countdown runs on the page, and the site closes when time is up. Pro adds daily site budgets that cap those passes.
See how often you almost gave in.
Every reach for a blocked site is counted and turned into time saved, like “ZenTab stopped me opening YouTube 47 times this week.”
Your blocklist, on your phone too.
Phones can't run Chrome extensions, so ZenTab sends the same list to your phone's DNS. Android or iPhone, about 5 minutes.

How it works
Three steps, every day. Sixty seconds to set up.
Start Focus Cocoon
One click from the popup parks your open tabs and opens ZenTab's calm New Tab. Type what you're working on and the timer starts.
Focus without the pull
Distracting sites ask how long you need them, the YouTube Shorts shelf disappears, and rain or brown noise plays while you work.
Restore and grow your streak
When the session ends, your tabs come back. Every day you hit 25 focused minutes fills a square on your graph.
Why ZenTab is different
Most focus extensions give you a blocklist and a timer. ZenTab is built for the moment you want to give in.

Free: the basics, done well
Enough to feel the difference on day one. No account, no time limit.
Focus Cocoon
Park up to 15 open tabs in one click, start a focus session on a calm New Tab, and get your tabs back when you're done.
Intent Mode
Ask how long you need a distracting site. A countdown runs on the page, and ZenTab closes it when the time is up.
Pomodoro timer
Four ready-made presets (Deep, Dev, Study, Read) with automatic breaks. Ending early still credits every minute.
Block 10 sites
Pick your worst distractions from 5 packs or add your own. Enough to feel the difference from day one.
Zen New Tab
The time, your intention and today's top 3 tasks. No feed, no noise.
Streak counter
Your current streak and the last 12 weeks of focus as a GitHub-style graph.
3 ambience tracks
Rain, brown noise and café, playing in the background with the popup closed. Sound pauses for your breaks.
Feed Eraser: YouTube Shorts
Shorts shelves disappear and Shorts links open as normal videos.
Basic adult site blocking
Known adult sites are blocked the moment you install.
Command palette + side panel
Ctrl/⌘ K to start a session or block a site, and a side panel that stays open while you work.
Blocking is the start. Quitting takes more.
Every ZenTab install blocks known adult sites from day one. But a blocked page alone is easy to work around at midnight. Pro gives you what actually helps: a few minutes between the impulse and the click, something better to do with them, and proof that you're winning.
Free: known adult sites blocked. Pro: everything on the right.
Block adult sites on your phone too, free- A quick quiz, box breathing or a 2-minute real-world task when an urge hits
- Turning it off takes a 30-minute wait, a typed pledge and 15 sums in a row
- SafeSearch forced on in Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and Yahoo
- Days protected and urges beaten, so you can see yourself winning
- Stays on in allowlist and Nuclear mode, and can be locked by Strict Mode
A calm start, not a feed.
Your New Tab shows the time, your intention, today's top three tasks and your streak, and nothing else. Prefer Chrome's own page? Switch it back in one click.
- Start a session on a task in one click
- Your streak in view, every time
- Light and dark themes, plus 5 Pro palettes
Your year, in one place.
Sign in with Google to see your streak on the web and share a public profile at zentab.live/u/you. With Pro, every browser you use adds up to one streak.
Open the web dashboardYour attention, under your control.
Free helps you start. Pro is for when you're done negotiating with yourself. It closes the escape hatches, like the 11th site, the “just five minutes” of YouTube and the late-night urge, so deep work becomes your default instead of a daily fight.
Clear the chaos in one click
Focus Cocoon parks every tab, runs your deep-work session, and restores your browser when you're done. Pro parks unlimited tabs across every window.
Every escape route, closed
Unlimited sites, page-level rules like youtube.com/shorts, or allowlist mode: everything is blocked except your work.
Decide once, not 50 times a day
Schedules and site budgets run on their own. Ask-first timers or a hard stop — you set the rules when you're calm.
Time between the impulse and the click
Strict Mode, Nuclear mode and the adult content lock can't be undone in a weak moment. That's the whole point.
Focus Cocoon, unlimited
Park every open tab across all windows, auto-start ambience, and restore everything when the session ends. Free is capped at 15 tabs in one window.
Site budgets + daily report
Give YouTube 30 minutes a day as timed Intent Mode passes, or a hard stop when the quota is gone. See today's use on your Overview.
Full adult content protection
Urge challenges instead of a dead end, SafeSearch forced on, a 30-minute lock to switch off, and a count of every urge you beat.
Unlimited blocking
No 10-site cap. Block just part of a site (youtube.com/shorts, reddit.com/r/all), or flip to allowlist mode for deep sprints.
Strict Mode+ and Nuclear mode
Rules that can only get stricter, commitment locks until a date you choose, and one-click lockdown of every other site.
Schedules
YouTube off 9 to 5 on weekdays. Automatic, every day — set once when you're calm.
Path Rules
Keep r/programming, lose r/memes. Block Shorts, r/all and the X home feed while the useful parts stay open.
Feed Eraser, everywhere
Keep YouTube search, lose the home feed. Hide Reels, the X timeline, Reddit and LinkedIn feeds, TikTok, comments and more.
Flowtime + custom timers
Count up until the work is done, or build your own rhythm like 90/20 or 52/17.
Focus Profiles
Work, Study and Evening modes, each with its own blocked sites, timer and sound, switching on a schedule.
Earned Time
Every 25 minutes of focus earns 5 minutes on blocked sites. Scrolling becomes the reward, not the default.
Your own songs, all 12 sounds, mixer
Play the songs you love while you focus, in any language, or layer rain, café and brown noise. Binaural beats and a fade-out timer too.
Your whole history
Every day since you started, past years, 14 achievements and a streak card to share.
Streak protection
4 freezes a month and Streak Repair, so one bad day never erases months of work.
Deep Insights
Best focus hours, time per project, distraction trends, a Monday report and CSV export.
Sync everywhere
One streak across every browser you sign into, with tasks, settings and profiles in sync.
Planning rituals
Weekly and monthly goals, recurring tasks and an evening shutdown journal.
Make it yours
5 extra color themes, your own New Tab background, a custom block page or redirect.
What $10 actually buys
Less than a lunch out, paid once. If Pro saves you just 15 minutes a day from feeds and “quick checks”, that's about 90 hours of focused time a year, roughly 11 cents an hour, and it keeps paying back every year after. The bigger return is harder to price: finishing the project, sleeping without the doom-scroll, and ending the day knowing you did the work.
Try every Pro feature free for 7 days first. No card needed. 14-day money-back after you buy.
Free vs Pro
Free gets you started. Pro keeps you in control.

FAQ
What is ZenTab?
A Chrome extension for deep work. Focus Cocoon parks your open tabs and starts a focus session in one click. Intent Mode asks how long you need a distracting site. It also blocks sites, hides endless feeds, plays ambience, and turns focus time into a GitHub-style streak.
What is Focus Cocoon?
One click parks your open tabs, opens a calm New Tab, and starts a focus session. When you end the session, ZenTab restores your tabs. Free parks up to 15 tabs in the current window. Pro parks unlimited tabs across every window and can auto-start ambience.
What is Intent Mode?
Instead of only blocking a site, ZenTab asks how long you need it (for example 5, 10 or 15 minutes), shows a countdown on the page, and closes the site when time is up. Pro site budgets cap those timed passes per day and show a daily site report on your Overview.
What's free, and what's Pro?
Free covers Focus Cocoon (15 tabs), Intent Mode, a Pomodoro timer, blocking for 10 sites, the Zen New Tab, your streak and the last 12 weeks, 3 sounds, the YouTube Shorts eraser and basic adult site blocking. Pro ($10 once) unlocks unlimited Cocoon, site budgets, full adult protection, unlimited blocking, schedules, Strict Mode, Nuclear mode, the full Feed Eraser, Flowtime, your whole history, streak freezes, insights and sync.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every new install gets 7 days of Pro, with no card and no sign-up. When it ends, your data and settings stay; Pro features come back the moment you upgrade.
Is Pro a subscription?
No. Pro is a one-time $10 payment, with lifetime updates and no recurring billing.
What if Pro isn't for me?
Contact us (the link is at the bottom of every page) within 14 days of buying, from the email you paid with, and you get a full refund. No questions asked.
How do I activate Pro?
Right after checkout you land on a page with your license key, and it's also in your receipt email. Paste it in the extension's Pro tab. Or sign in to ZenTab with Google using the email you paid with, and Pro unlocks automatically.
How many browsers can I use Pro on?
Sign in with the email you paid with and Pro unlocks on every browser where you sign in. A license key works on up to 3 browsers at once, and you can move it by removing it from one browser in the Pro tab.
How does adult content protection work?
Known adult sites are blocked for everyone from the moment you install. Pro turns that into real protection: when an urge hits you get a quiz, breathing exercise or short task instead of a dead end, SafeSearch is forced on, and switching protection off takes a 30-minute wait, a typed pledge and 15 sums in a row. With Strict Mode or a commitment lock on, it can't be switched off at all. Turn on "Allow in Incognito" to cover private windows too.
Do I need an account?
No. Everything works without one, and your data stays in your browser. An account is optional: sign in with Google to see your streak on the web, share a public profile, or sync between browsers with Pro.
What data leaves my browser?
Without an account, only the Pro license check. If you sign in, ZenTab uploads daily focus totals, and with Pro also your session log, tasks and settings, so they can sync. It never uploads your browsing history, and you can export or delete your account from the web dashboard at any time.
Which browsers does it work on?
Chrome, plus Chromium browsers such as Edge and Brave.
Can I bypass it?
Only on purpose, and it takes effort. With Strict Mode on, anything that loosens your rules is saved and applies at 4am the next day, and "I really need this site" asks you to type "I choose to break my streak" and solve three sums, with one try a minute. Locked Mode puts a Focus Profile behind a 4-digit PIN that you hand to someone you trust; five wrong guesses lock PIN entry for an hour. It's a commitment device, not security: you can always request an unlock that lifts the next morning.
Does it work on my phone?
Chrome on phones can't run extensions, so ZenTab's free Phone Shield exports your blocklist as a plain list of domains and walks you through putting it on your phone's DNS with the NextDNS free tier, RethinkDNS on Android or Apple Screen Time on iPhone. Setup takes about 5 minutes; the guide is at zentab.live/phone-shield.
Does it block adult sites on my phone?
Chrome on phones can't run extensions, so ZenTab's free "Protect every device" guide at zentab.live/protect sets up a network filter on your Android phone, iPhone, iPad or any computer in about a minute. It blocks adult sites in every browser and app, including Incognito, and with the same Gmail signed in, your dashboard shows which devices are protected.
